About The Author

Author Allan Russell, known by the alias "Al Fatman" (based on a family nickname), found a love for playing video games at a very young age from his grandfather and siblings. This eventually grew into a passionate pastime after winning an Xbox console from the Australian television show Cheez TV a month before public release in 2002.

A natural talent for writing, Allan won many writing competitions throughout both primary and high school respectfully, often winning first or second place both shire and state wide. In November of 2010, a few weeks after graduating from high school with a VCE Diploma, Allan found Blogger via a friend's posts about music. During his spare time, he liked to read reviews of video games so that he could accurately judge what games to buy in the future. This however eventually discouraged him to do so, as many reviews were unfair or predisposed in their opinions.
From there the idea was born; a blog page where gamer, new or veteran, would receive a 100%, unbiased review from an honest, passionate gamer just like the readers. This is how The GameCave came to be.

Since 2010, Allan has written various works from AAA games to DLC reviews, also including product, App, PC, Early Access and many more. He also created the short series Five Easy Achievements (a guide for achievement hunters to boost their gamerscore) and Reviews and Suggestions for players looking for an in depth look at games in Beta form.
All of this has been maintained under the firm belief that all gamers deserve a fair and just rating to be well informed on their purchases and usage of their time.

The GameCave is one of the longest running Independent Game Review pages in Australia, and hopes to continue to provide you with all you need to know in the gaming community.
