Review: Trials Evolution

G'day there folks!

With the original on both the PC and Arcade being an instant hit, it was only a matter of time before another Trials would come our way and now with Trials Evolution, gamers worldwide are making a return to the former best selling Arcade title.

As with the original, Trials Evolution makes a return to the newly reformed 3D side scroller but now with variety. Firstly, gamers can notice how camera angles now affect how gameplay looks, plays and feels in a controller. This new feature comes great with one of the new controls in the hands of gamers, as creating trakcs become more diverse than ever. Players can now choose where to place their starting points of maps in different and diverse areas, as the power of imagination can create the most insane maps and some of the more clever ones.
Audio is as great as it was before, with sound effects truly brilliant and the musical score being much more ampted up than before. Graphics, to some dissapointed, have all but stayed the same with only some points being addressed and prettied up with better texture, colouring and lighting.
Multiplayer is much of the same, with a slight dissapointment of the continuig issues with connectivity. During mid race, a match may slow or stop and cause glitches in-game until either the match is over for the host or a player is dropped from the session.

Singleplayer is much more diverse this time around; with heavy customisation to both character and bike right from colour to which parts to use, diverse choices and originality in each track, singleplayer has become much more enjoyable. One of those only issues is the License unlocks: while playing you unlock medals and a certain amount is needed to unlock more tracks, parts, ect.
These become more of a chore than fun gameplay but is slightly made up for with the extra challenges to make quick cash or medals, such as flight distance, low fuel travel and more.

With levels modelling some of recent history's famous games such as COD and Limbo, Trials Evolution has definitely evolved from is predecesor but has a long way to go to keep its foot on the peddal and avoid the repeditive gameplay Arcade sequels are famous for.

Out of 10, I gave Trials Evolution an 8/10

Good points
+Creative tracks
+Brilliant customisation
+Create Tracks an excellent feature

Bad points
-Slightly irritating medal collecting
-Physics do have the hiccup now and then
